The Jedi Program
The Jedi program was created to be the C.A.A. version of Real Life Superheroes. They are based upon the fictional concept of Jedi from Star Wars, a highly skilled and trained group of people whose purpose is to serve the light. They share the same names for things, and the same basic structure of the Jedi of Starwars, but this is where the similarities between those Jedi and the C.A.A. Jedi pretty much end. The mission of our Jedi Order is to go out in to the world and do good deeds, in total secrecy. They are meant to inspire hope in others, and prove that there are caring and good people in this world. To accomplish this goal, Jedi must act in total anonymity, and without compensation or reward. To outsiders they are simply kind people who just so happen to be in the right place in the right time, and willing to help. On top of doing good deeds, Jedi are tasked with watching out for others, fighting crime and violence, and helping out wherever, whomever, whenever. When in the field Jedi usually operate in plainclothes, or specially designated uniforms and can operate in any place at any time. When in a C.A.A. environment, or during training, Jedi wear C.A.A. uniforms, or special Jedi uniforms. Because of the operation of the Jedi, and the secrecy involved, Jedi lead double lives and have double identities. When in the field Jedi go by their Jedi personnas and names, never aknowledging or revealing their non-Jedi identities. When not in the field, Jedi go by their real names and identities, never revealing the fact that they are Jedi, or making any notice of their Jedi names and lives.
Jedi are meant to operate alone and in secret, since they are supposed to convey a sense that their good deeds are done totally randomly, without prior thought or notion. This means that support from other C.A.A. units and personnel would betray their identity as Jedi, and the intent of the Jedi's mission, so they usually operate unsupported. When Jedi do work with or lead C.A.A. Units on special projects or missions, or work with C.A.A. units, they do so from the position of a leader or advisor, and are not usually identified as being Jedi. Because of their unique position and operation, Jedi are held to the Morality Code to the highest extent, and must live very Christian lives, as well as be benevolent in nature. Any Commissioned personnel is allowed to train as a Jedi if they so choose. However Jedi training and way of life is very intense and requires people with very specific abilities, mindsets, and core faiths. Jedi training is physically, spiritually, and academically difficult, and often takes years to complete.
Because of the uniqueness of Jedi operation, and their ability to be deployed anywhere, Jedi follow a special martial art/discipline system that helps better prepare them for, and remind them of, their mission and purpose. This system is called Mandojetii. Mando is the mental mindset, and discipline, and Jetti is the physical martial art. Jedi operate alone and in any circumstance, therefore they must be equiped to defend themselves. Jetii focuses on this aspect of Jedi operation. Jetii is derived from many different martial arts and disciplines, but focuses mostly on self defense, and safely unarming opponents and attackers. This is in case Jedi are ever in unsavory circumstances, or situations, or need to protect someone from danger. Jetii is broken up into a tier system based upon varying level of skill by the Jedi practitioners.
Innitiate
The lowest level of being a Jedi and not technically a level of Jetti. Personnel at this level show Jedi potential, and are introduced to the basics concepts of being a Jedi, in preparation for them becoming an Apprentice should they accept the offer to be trained.
Apprentice
The first official level of Jetii, all Jedi must start at this level before being able to advance. At this level Apprentices are trained in groups, usually by Jedi trainers and the Grandmaster. They learn the basic principles of Jetii and start to understand the system and the mindset. All principles of Jetii are learned at their most basic level, Apprentices also begin to learn Mando at this level.
Padawan
The second level of Jetii, Padawan expands on the basic principles learned at the Apprentice level. Padawans are chosen from the Apprentices by Jedi Knights or Masters for one on one tuteledge. Once selected by a Knight or Master, Padawans training is then undertaken soley by the Knight or Master. Padawans learn more extensively the principles of Jetii and Mandoism. Through this unique partnership, Padawans are better able to understand and experience the Jedi concept first hand, through the guidence of their tutors.
The Trials
When deemed ready by their Master's Padawans must take and accomplish the Jedi Trials. Once passed Padawans are elevated to the Rank of Jedi Knight. The Trials consist of four seperate hurdles a Padawan must pass before they can be elevated. Each trial is undertaken before the C.A.A. Council and Jedi Grandmaster, who monitor and administer each trial.
The first is the Trial of Skill, which requires a Padawan to demonstrate the physical moves of Jetii, and prove their mastery of it.
The second is the Trial of Flesh, which requires Padawans to prove their physical strength and tolerance. This is usually done through simulated situations in which an Apprentice must perservere in order to pass.
The third is the Trial of Courage, for this trial, Padawans must prove they are worthy leaders, and capable of being Jedi. They do this by over coming challenges tailored specifically to them.
The fourth and final is the Trial of Spirit, to accomplish this trial, Padawans must look inside themselves, and soul search. Often this trial is undertaken only between the Padawan and God. Padawans dig inside themselves aknowledging their flaws, and determining how they can be better people, they consult God during this time period, and ask him how they can be better Christians. Once the Padawan deems the period of soul searching and meditation to be over, they go before the Council and are subjected to questions specifically tailored to them. Padawans are also tested on their Mando culture and language understanding, in order to pass, Padawans must be able to speak Mando fluently, and must fully understand their Mando Culture.
If the Council deems the Padawan to have passed the Trials, then they are elevated to the level of Knight, if they do not pass the trials, they are to remain a Padawan and study longer under the watchful eyes of their master.
Knight
After Padawans pass the trials, they become Knights. Knights are full fledged Jedi. Knights undertake Jedi missions, and function alone as Jedi, they are also given a full Jedi identity. Knights are capable of taking Padawans of their own after a year of succesful service. Knights continue their training by learning from Jedi Masters, Jedi Trainers, personal experience, and the Grandmaster.
Master
If the Council/Jedi Grandmaster deem Knight to be ready, they are reviewed by the Council. Every bit of their operation, personalities, and profiles are studied, and the Knight is thouroghly examined and tested. If deemed to be worthy, he is elevated to the level of Jedi Master, the third highest level of Jetii. Masters act as advisors and aids on Jedi affairs directly to the Grandmaster. They also oversee Jedi operations and training in conjunction with the Grandmaster and Council.
The highest level of Jetii below the Grandmaster.
Jedi Grandmaster
The Jedi Grandmaster is the leader of the Jedi Order, and the C.A.A. itself. He is the president of the organization, and it's caretaker. He leads the Council, is the public face of the organization, and is tasked with maintaining operation, and making sure the C.A.A. is sticking to it's principles of fatih and service. Once appointed a Grandmaster serves until they retire, step down, or are removed by the Council. Grandmasters usually choose their successors unless they are removed by the Council. The Grandmaster is the most influential member of the C.A.A. Council, and holds much the same power within the C.A.A. that a president would for a country. They are also tasked with training Jedi throughout the various stages of Jetti, and looking for new Jedi innitiates. Because of their position, the Grandmaster is a Silver Guardian, and must recieve Silver Guardian training, but is exempt from some aspects of the Silver Guardian way because of the nature of the position.
Ranks
The Jedi follow the tier system of Jetii, but they are still C.A.A. personnel and adhere to the standard C.A.A. ranking and designation system as well. Jedi C.A.A. Ranks and Jetii ranks are linked, meaning that when a Jedi reaches a certain Jetii rank, they either are promoted to, or must have reached, and equivelent C.A.A. Rank, this is shown below:
Innitiate- Commissioned personnel or Recruit
Apprentice- Private
Padawan-Private First Class or above
Knight-General
Master-Commander
Silver Guardian-Black Commander
Grandmaster-Black-7 Commander
Other positions within the Order
There are many other positions and designations within the Jedi Order. Such as Jedi trainers, and Master Trainers. Each one one of these positions was created to fill a specific need of the Jedi program, and it is not uncommon for a Jedi to have several different designations and qualifications within the Order.
The Jedi and Central Command
The Jedi Order and Central Command share a unique partnership. The Jedi Order is a sub unit of Central Command, but because of it's importance, the Jedi Grandmaster is the Black-7 representative for Central Command on the C.A.A. Council. This is because Central Command is the Council itself, but also has units below it that do not fit under any other Black-7 Unit, so this unique partnership was created.
Pledge of Secrecy
Because of the nature and special requirements of Jedi service, all information about Jedi operation and deployement is secret. If you happen to discover a Jedi out in the field, or while they are on a mission, and realize they are in fact a Jedi, please keep this information to yourself. The Jedi are supposed to spread hope and joy through anonymous acts of kindness to others. Their mission is one simply of compassion. If they are revealed, or shown to be Jedi, then it takes away from the purpose and joy of their operation. They are just normal citizens, doing what all citizens should, watching out for others. Jedi who are publically revealed, must be reassigned, and given a new identity.
